SHIKI-VinnWong Art&Fashion Exhibition Recap

For those who came to our Art and Fashion Exhibition, thank you. You had us all mingling with both art and fashion enthusiasts, designers of SL fashion labels, collectors, artists, musicians, models... hell there was even the odd window shopper that stumbled across our event and decided to stay. I think one even went home with one of our prizes too. Ha!

If you couldn't make it to our event this time, make sure to keep an eye out for our next one. Fact was, you didn't have to be into art to have enjoyed our event, nor did you have to be into fashion to have had a great time. We even gave out free gifts every 20 minutes including paintings, an exclusive outfit from SHIKI and lots of gift vouchers. One of them was $L3,000. Yes, Shinichi is quite the generous man.

I would like to personally thank our event organizer Serene Faith for making this all happen. It wouldn't have been such a great turn out without her. She was juggling and handling issues behind the scene and the most impressive thing was she had it all hidden from me until the end of the show. That's what I call a great manager.

I would also like to thank the amazing DJ BonieFacio as well as musician Anthony Galloway for making our show so lively and incredible.

At the event, we came across a rather thought provoking topic. Is fashion fine art? How about vice versa? Well... my answer is. Why not?

Some may consider fashion and fine arts being two separate entities and that to join the two would be to degrade the prestigiousness of the latter while pushing the former into thematic costumes. Well, this year at SHIKI, we decided to challenge this.

When creating any kind of work, concept, application, execution all come into play. I think what SHIKI had done gracefully this year was finding a tasteful balance between these three aspects.

The clothes speak for themselves. But it isn't until you delve into the paintings that inspired them will you understand their true worth. That, I think is artistic enough for me.

At SHIKI, there is always something to look forward to. Our next event will be a photo competition. This time though, it's opened to all of our outfits across the SHIKI label. The bar is high for this one guys, we will be judging the creativity and overall quality of each entry extensively! What does the winner get? Well, stay tuned. I can only tell you that it won't be anything you wanna miss out on.

So dear Second Life readers, until then. We're also going to be announcing the winners of our VIP contest real soon.
