New Years Eve in Second Life is a unique experience in that we get to ring in the new year with friends from across globe all throughout the day. From New Zealand to the Hawaiian Islands, we cheer the new year with friends each hour.

They say, whatever you're doing as the clock strikes midnight is what you'll be doing all year. We're not sure about that, but Shiki does want you to look your finest. Shiki offers colorful and creative cocktail wear along with formals with stand-out style. Seen above is our recent releases: the Nightingale dress, and the Roppongi Night tuxedo. Shiki At Japan Relief Fundraiser

We are pleased to be participating in the Japan Relief Fundraiser and would like to invite everyone to check out the event. Japan Relief Fundraiser is an official Americares fund raising event with over 60 SL designers to help the people of Japan after the March disaster. It's a great way for everyone to not only contribute, but to purchase some fabulous styles and exclusive items.

Shinichi has designed the dress you see above. This dress called "Hibiscus Romance" is an exclusive design that will only be for sale at our Japan Relief Fundraiser booth. 100% of the proceeds from this dress will go to help Japan. Costa Rica Sims Productions Presents Shiki Spring 2011

Little Big Shop Event Begins

Shinichi Mathy was invited to participate in a really unique event called "Little Big Shop". The idea was to pair new creators with more experienced creators and have them collaborate on a unique creation. That's quite cool in itself, but it's also to raise funds for what we think is a great cause. Proceeds from the sale of the collaborations go to The Water Project.

The Water Project, Inc. is a non-profit organization that's bringing relief to communities around the world who suffer needlessly from a lack of access to clean water. Nearly 1 Billion people across the planet struggle with a lack of clean water. We are so happy to be able to help bring people this most basic of human needs.

Representing Shiki Designs, Shinichi partnered with jewelry designer Ephedra Loon of Dragon Charm Designs. The pair collaborated on this lovely ensemble called "Makai Chic". It features a lush tropical dress with an open-thigh design and sculpted hibiscus flowers. It is accessorized with a flowered pearl necklace and bracelet, earrings, and a hair accent. We love the results and hope you'll enjoy wearing it.

At our Little Big Shop Location, you will also find this event exclusive Ocean Blue Suit for ladies. It feature a suit jacket and pants, collared shirt, and includes many sculpted parts and layers. It's an amazingly versatile suit that will make you stand out among the black and gray business crowd.

Outrageous Glamour Presents the Shiki Spring 2011 Collection April 2 4PM

Please be our guest Saturday, April 2 at 4 PM slt, as the Outrageous Glamour Agency presents our Shiki Designs Spring 2011 collection. O-Glam Agency has developed a high-concept departure from the traditional runway show that features a playful and stylized narrative brought to life on lavish dual stages.

Additionally, this will be a first chance to view many of Shinichi's new Spring designs for women. As the men saw at our recent MFW show, Shiki is all about color for Spring 2011 and the styles for ladies are no exception. Reactions have been fantastic so far and we hope you'll share yours with us on Saturday.

MFW 2011: This Time, It's Gentlemen First

Men's Fashion Week 2011 has begun and we are really looking forward to our menswear show tomorrow, Saturday, March 18 at 11AM slt. This will be the first in-world public viewing of Shinichi's all new Shiki Spring 2011 collection. It marks the return of boldly bright colors to the Shiki brand and we can't wait to see the reaction from SL's male fashion community. We think you'll enjoy the urban-tropical feel of the new designs.

Good Hunting SL!

Hunts. Hunts. Everywhere!

Just a quick post to show you all this "Tokyo Night" dress by Shiki Designs. This dress was chosen by Shinichi to be in the Fashion For Life Hunt. The vendor is hidden in our Fashion For Life shop and the dress will sell for the outrageously low price of L$40. This is one of my favorite Shiki Designs of all time and proceeds from it will go directly to Relay for Life.

For all you hunt addicts, Shiki is also participating in the on-going (until March 20) Timeless Treasure Hunt. You can see pictures of the items on the Shopping Therapy With Shay blog. Thank you all for your concern and well-wishes for Shinichi. You guys are awesome and we've been passing your kindness on to him. Shinichi does have some post-earthquake clean up to do, but he is safe and looking forward to the upcoming Shiki spring 2011 launch.

Rummaging Through My Shiki Closet

A few nights ago, Shinichi and I were being nostalgic about some of the Shiki items from past seasons. Of course, my job is to help tell people about them so naturally I couldn't help but wish that I had done a better job of sharing them with people. I suppose I will always think that way, but it did inspire me to dig through my inventory and try to find some unlikely combinations to make into outfits.

I kind of liked this one and thought I'd share. The skirt is actually part of the Shiki dress "Kuroneko" from winter of 2008. The whole dress is gorgeous of course, but the skirt is simple and versatile and I find myself wearing it quite often (by the way: it's on sale at 50% off in-world only for a few more days and will be going away after).

The jacket is another Shiki item, but it's the jacket from a men's tartan suit called "Mori". It was intended for male avatars so a little refitting needed to be done on the collar and sleeve prims. I love the look though, so it was totally worth it.

Other items include a bra from Intimizzio's set "Kawaii Flower Mesh", fabulous shoes from Maitreya ("Frenzy" in Bronze), "Blues" glasses from primOptic, DrLife skin, and of course my current favorite hair, "Yana" in Ebony from Tukinowaguma.

Sneek-a-peek at Shiki's New Look

If you've noticed the construction equipment around the the Shiki sim, you may have wondered if something new was coming for Spring 2010 and you would be correct. Shiki fans all know by now that Shinichi is always heading forward with the Shiki brand and the latest move is a complete remake of the Shiki main store.

This ambitious project has been commissioned to acclaimed builder, Kere Delcon. Kere will update the architecture with a fresh urban design that utilizes some of the previous texture work of designer Ryo Verne and adds his own keen sense of design as well. When asked about the inspiration for the new Shiki, Kere tells us:

It comes from Shinichi's designs themselves - bold, fashionable and modern without being stuffy or restrictive. The use of concrete gives the space an urban industrial feel, but the decorative elements make it intimate and colourful, complimenting the clothing lines.
The display spaces are designed to move people through the seasonal collections while latest releases and special offers can be found adjacent to the entrance hall.

We're excited about it and think Shiki fans will love it. The new design will also incorporate our new Shiki partner brand, Aska Shapes. The transfer will begin Friday May 7 at 3.30AM with re-opening expected within a few hours. We are planning a re-opening party later this month so check back on this blog for detail. Meanwhile, enjoy a few teaser shots of the new store.

Come "Window Shopping" With Shiki Designs and the Timeless Agency

There is much to love about shopping in a virtual world and even though there are always new innovations, we could hardly want for more convenience. Browse, click, buy, then wear. It only takes a few moments to see and buy the latest from our favorite designers. Still, it's worth asking: have we traded something for all this convenience?

When Timeless Agency's Vitality Lollipop first told us that the theme for their show was "window shopping", my imagination instantly transported me to an evening stroll of looking at window displays from Bloomingdale's, Macy's, Barney's and others. Painstakingly arranged and glamorously illuminated, window displays give us a glimpse of the fabulous new life that awaits us inside the store. Great window displays have magic and are truly an art form.

Perhaps the lack of relevance would explain the rarity of window displays in SL but in any case, we are please to be a part of Timeless Agency's "Window Shopping" show as they bring their unique concept to life.
